Handpicked Items: Gentle Lavender

With most of my favorite season behind me it’s disheartening to think that not a single post about it will appear on my blog this year. Not one to concede, I decided I must rehash a topic from last Spring and pick out a few products based on my recent floral fixation.

Lavender has robbed roses of being my favorite fragrance ever since Charles brought a bouquet of dried stalks home from the local flower shop to stock in our bedroom. As it turns out, the bay area has very hospitable conditions for growing the flower and just an hour north and south of us are numerous fields of the stuff.

With that in mind I thought it more charming to only list products from the fields and shops in my area, so any purchases you make from this list will bring a little bit of the bay to you!

For the Home

Sonoma Lavender
  1. Spray Mist
  2. Hanger Cover
  3. Soy Candle
  4. Aromatherapy Spa Collection
  5. Lavender Scent Diffuser

For the Flavor

Eatwell Farm, Little Sky Lavender Farm
  1. Salt
  2. Sugar
  3. Honey
  4. Cookie Mix
  5. Tisane (tea blend)
  6. Brownie Kit

And how can I list ingredients without a few delightful recipes to add?

For the Indulgence

Sonoma Lavender
  1. Lavender Eye Pillow
  2. Salt Scrub
  3. Lavender Bath Salts & Fleur-de-Lys Soaps
  4. Hand Creme

I’m immensely looking forward to the annual lavender festival at the end of the month and I have money put aside for many of the items listed above! I think I may have a lot of baking in the near future. Have a sugar-sweet day and thanks for reading!

I sincerely apologize for the lack of posts this past month; I started a new job at the beginning and though I spend my commute writing on the train I never seem to get enough done! I still plan to hold that contest as soon as I polish my blog layout, it’s all down to finding the time in my busy schedule but I’m really looking forward to it!

Handpicked Items: Spring Rose

Spring is finally here and as of late I have become completely obsessed with roses. It turns out that besides their lovely fragrance, roses carry a number of benefits including:

  • Suitability for all skin types, but especially of use to dry, sensitive or aging skins.
  • Ability to reduce redness
  • Soothing for irritated skin.
  • Mild anti-septic and astringent properties.
  • It’s fragrance is a mild anti-depressant and can reduce anxiety.

And on top of all the factual reasons roses can be good for you, what is more delightfully feminine than pampering yourself with elements of this beautiful flower? From topical skin treatments to refreshing teas, I’m going to share some hand-picked items featuring the iconic rose.
